Our Operations

The Psychiatry Clinic for Young Adults is a very well-functioning outpatient clinic located in newly renovated, central premises, just a stone's throw from the transport center. As one of our skilled specialists is going on parental leave, we are looking for a replacement for the coming year.

The Psychiatry Clinic for Young Adults offers specialized psychiatric outpatient care for individuals aged 18-25 with conditions such as bipolar disorder, severe anxiety disorders, deep depression, or personality issues. Collaboration with our inpatient care as well as with other parts of the organization is well established. Currently, there are several employed specialist colleagues at the clinic, as well as a number of ST and junior doctors.

At Akademiska sjukhuset, psychiatry is organized into five sections, of which the Section for Affective Disorders is one. The section includes both inpatient care and several outpatient clinics that together are responsible for specialized psychiatric care for adults in Uppsala County. In order to continue providing modern psychiatric care of high quality, we actively work with supervision, consultation, education, assessment, and treatment through evidence-based methods as well as follow-up and evaluation. Continuous development of the operations is a given for us, as is research and teaching of students.

You will have the opportunity to develop personally and professionally through stimulating meetings with both patients and their relatives, but also with colleagues from your own and other sections, universities, and students.

Your Assignment

We are looking for you who are a specialist doctor in psychiatry (adult psychiatry primarily) with an interest in affective disorders and outpatient care. Your working days will consist of regular specialist doctor work with patient visits and collaboration with colleagues and other professionals in the team. Supervision, teaching, and on-call duties are included in the assignment.

Your Qualifications

You should be a licensed physician with specialist competence in psychiatry. We see it as a given that you enjoy working together with others for the benefit of patients and the organization. Experience from the patient group is an advantage. We place great importance on good specialist knowledge, collaboration skills, judgment, and quality awareness.

We Offer

The position is a one-year temporary position with the possibility of extension, and the start date will be agreed upon. A probationary period may apply. The working rate is 100%, but individual preferences can be discussed. On-call and standby duties may be included in the position, and introduction with an experienced colleague is offered for everyone.
